With reference to your despatches No.68 of the

3rd of April and No.91 of the 24th of April, I have the honour

to transmit Mr. H. G. Fisher's pension paper.

2.

I have not considered it necessary or desirable

to make to Mr. Fisher any greater concession than is involved in the grant to him of half pay leave for the period from 5th March to 29th May of which I informed you in my telegram of the 1st

instant.

3

With reference to the 1st paragraph of Mr.Pishers

letter of the 20th of March I desire to state that I am not aware that Mr. Fisher has been treated otherwise than have other officers in the service of this Colony nor that he has worked harder than have many others. On the contrary in the matter of leave he has been treated with rather exceptional generosity. Mr. Fisher joined the service in April 1900 and arrived in the Colony in May of that year. In April 1905 he was granted three months vacation leave followed by nine months leave on half salary. In March 1908 he was granted, on the grounds of urgent private affairs, three months vacation leave followed by three

On the 18th of February and a half months leave on half salary. 1913 after being absent from duty owing to sickness for seven

days Mr. Fisher was granted fourteen days sick leave in order

to take a short sea voyage,

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE

LEWIS HARCOURT, M.P.,
